Printing on Plexiglass
Plexiglass and acrylic glass are used primarily for signage, displays, and decorative elements – (suggested addition: also wayfinding systems, machine housings, or protective screens – please review/confirm). Its smooth, non-absorbent surface places particular demands on the ink: for a marking to remain legible outdoors or over an extended period, it must be both water- and UV-resistant.
How Water- and UV-Resistant Printing on Plexiglass Works
Marking plexiglass relies on Thermal Inkjet technology, using edding systems in 12.7 mm and 25.4 mm (0.5″ and 1″). The ink used is water- and UV-resistant, UV-curing – specially developed for smooth, non-absorbent surfaces with high demands on long-term and outdoor durability.
As requirements can vary by application – for example additional exposure to moisture or direct sunlight – the ink selection can be flexibly assembled from our portfolio to achieve the optimal combination of adhesion, contrast, and durability for each plexiglass application.
