Our Solutions for Marking and Coding Textiles, Fabrics, and Leather
Printing on Textiles and Fabrics
From woven fabrics and non-wovens to blended materials and leather: textile surfaces are extremely diverse – and so are their requirements for durable, high-contrast marking. Weave density, fiber type, and the composition of blended fabrics significantly influence how ink is absorbed, how it dries, and ultimately how sharp the printed image turns out.
Leather applications in particular showcase the strengths of our edding compact printers combined with the right edding ink: they enable reliable, well-adhering marking even on this demanding material surface.
How High-Contrast, Durable Printing on Textiles Works
Thanks to our broad ink portfolio, the right solution can be found for virtually any textile application – using Thermal Inkjet technology via the edding compact printer systems in 12.7 mm and 25.4 mm (0.5″ and 1″).
Depending on requirements, a range of different inks is available: where durability is key – for example through industrial washing processes – a suitably resistant ink is selected. Conversely, where a marking is meant to disappear during washing, an ink designed for that purpose is used. On highly porous textile surfaces, pigmented inks are recommended: their larger, coarser pigments deposit on the surface, delivering significantly higher contrast than dye-based inks.
